This post will be about a lot of love and gratitude for my sister. I remember when I first told her about this game, she immediately supported me and even fell in love with Nora.
I remember when DONT NOD hadn't yet released their collaboration with Insert Coins, my sister made me a handmade birthday present. She sent me a box inspired by the game Lost Records, knowing how much I loved it. I even created a mini corner dedicated to all the Lost Records merchandise. Today, I decided to share my collection of Lost Records merchandise.
In this post, I want to say that it is important to love and appreciate the people around you. People who care about your interests, feelings, and dreams. I wanted to compile the poems Kat, Nora and Autumn write for Swann, if you're in 'Something More' status with them. In case someone needs it for a reference or just wanna read them altogether. I like how each poem reflects the girl's personality and how she views her relationship with Swann in a different way.

I've studied poems before, so I think Kat's is the most well-written considering metaphors and rhymes. Makes sense because she's our little poet. But I like how Nora and Autumn writes a poem just for Swann even if it's not something they're familiar with. Nora even points out she isn't like Kat but she tried. I think all of them are beautifully written.
In 1995, Swann, Kat, Nora and Autumn thought that summer would be nothing but music, recorded tapes and a diary full of lovely nonsense. But the forest had a memory. And Kat was furious. There, Kat spoke of curses, of Corey, of everything that had been done to them. They sang, they bled, and they left offerings to the void. On the night of the ritual, the four of them ventured deep into the Whispering Woods, following the light of the moths until they reached the clearing where the Abyss lay waiting: an impossible hole, dark, breathing as if it held secrets. But the Abyss was not magic. It was trauma. It was fear. It was the way their minds drew what happened that night. Corey fell there, not into a purple portal, but into an act that scarred them forever. A buried secret, a guilt none of them could name. Afterwards, everything fell apart. They promised never to see each other again. They promised to forget. But summers are not forgotten. And Kat… Kat didn’t have time. Illness took her years later, leaving only her absence, her box, her echo. In 2022, the three of them returned to the past to remember what the Abyss had taken from them: innocence, friendship, and a love that Swann never spoke aloud. The Abyss wasn’t a monster. It was the place where their childhood ended. The point where everything changed. The void that remained between them. And yet, when they remember, the four of them are together again for a moment: Swann, Nora, Autumn… and Kat (the raven), like a gentle ghost, watching from the edge of the Abyss.

There are games that end with the end credits. And there are games that live in our memory for several hours, days, years. This is exactly what our favorite Lost Records game has become. Weeks, months pass. We review the cut scenes, listen to Ruth Radelet, notice more and more new details, and build theories about the Abyss.
A summer that can't be returned
If you remove all the mystical aspects, the story revolves around four girls: Swann, Autumn, Nora, and Kat. Each of them is unique, but that's what makes them true friends. The developers have captured the essence of a carefree teenage summer with remarkable accuracy. It's a time when an eternity seems to lie ahead. When a single day can become a lifetime. When a simple walk in the woods transforms into a memory that will stay with you forever.
Is the Abyss a Wonderland or a Pandemonium?
The biggest mystery of Velvet Cove is the Abyss. But what's interesting is that DONT NOD almost never provides direct answers. Does the Abyss grant wishes? Does it change time? Can it leave people between life and death? In my personal opinion, the Abyss is a living entity. But is it evil, or is it a land of wonder that offers a lucrative deal?
Why did the friendship between Kat and Swann become the heart of the story?
I truly consider the friendship and/or love between Swann and Kat to be a canon of the game. I respect any alternative interpretations and do not criticize them in any way; on the contrary, I even support them. Interestingly, while Swann is technically the main character, many players end the game with the feeling that Kat remains at the heart of the story. She is the bravest, the most enigmatic, the most tragic, and, in my opinion, knows much more than the others. She is the first to encounter the Abyss. Its symbol is the raven, which in many cultures is associated not only with death, but also with the transition between worlds and rebirth. This is why I personally see the ending of Lost Records not as a farewell, but as a promise... to return.
Why do we continue to build theories and live in a game?
In my opinion, DONT NOD intentionally left too many questions unanswered. Who is Celine? Why does Kat see her in her dreams? Who built the cabin? Why did the man from the newspaper clipping return 20 years later without aging? Why is Swann's camera in a box? What does the blue glow mean when Kat plays with her knife and in the eyes of the deer? And finally... Is it possible to bring Kat and Swann back?
The ending that became the beginning
If the developers wanted to end the story, they could have stopped at the scene where the adult versions of Nora, Autumn, and Swann are hugging each other outside the bar. But they didn't. Instead, Swann receives a message from Kat asking her to find her. Swann responds with, "Kat, I'll find you!" and takes a step into the Abyss. This is not the end. It is a promise. A promise that the story is not over yet. This is why we keep returning to Velvet Cove. Not only for the sake of answers, but also for the sake of hope. As long as there is even the slightest chance that Swann will find Kat one day... We will also continue to search for her.

Hello 👋 First of all, this isn't related to the recent news about Dontnod's financial struggle or any new announcement.
I just wanted to transcribe some answers from Dontnod's Q&A video from two months ago and there are other interviews and replies over different social media, if you want to check them out. However, these are the most recent, official informations I could find regarding the game and its possible direction for the future, along with some interesting tidbits. So this post is for the fans who hasn't watched the video yet or don't feel like watching the whole thing. Read it if you finished the game and would like some more explanations!
Keep in mind that Michel Koch(director) didn't want to reveal too much informations and some of these sound pretty ambiguous. It's understandable because Dontnod isn't working on the next Lost Records yet. Also these aren't exactly word for word because I wrote down as I was watching it, but I tried not to change any meaning.
A possible sequel?
They(Dontnod) don't think it'll be called Tape 3. They want to go back to the story - what happens to the girls and Celine. Also more about Dylan and the package. They're currently working on a different project with Netflix and want to go back to Lost Records afterwards.
Who is Celine?
She was a girl living with her family and some of them were part of miners who found the Abyss for the first time. There are some important links between Celine and Kat.
Kat's knife
Swann finding Kat's knife along with the paper that tells her how to open the cabin's door hints at a time loop. It also links to the dark figures(I'm assuming shadows) of people who were into the Abyss.
Why does Kat look different in the video tape from the ending ?
Kat we see at the end is not exactly the same Kat. She's the version of Kat within the Abyss.
Shadows
The location where the shadow of Corey, Kat, and Swann appears is related to what exactly is happening in the Abyss.
Nora's marriage
Nora loves to give the impression that she has a perfect life going on, but not everything's going perfectly. The hints such as Nora's wife wanting her to sign on something from the text message were purposefully put without telling the whole story, but Michel thinks we read them through correctly(on whether she's getting a divorce).
Nora's ethnicity
Her father is Armenian American.
Fire in the game vs. trailer
The fire in Tape 2 initially happened in a different way than what we got in the game, hence why it looks different in the reveal trailer. It was due to the lack of time to fix the story before they had to reveal the trailer. 👇

Let us hope that they'll be able to continue the story of Lost Records in future because they clearly want to explore more and continue as a series.
