Is there a reason the cabin in the woods appeared? Why is it locked on the other side with a strange lock? I think the cabin is a center for rituals, specifically witches' covens. Didn't you find it odd that in the chapter "Coven," Kat, Nora, Autumn, and Swann themselves were enchanting the castle, as if performing some kind of ritual. For a moment, I thought all four of them had become part of a witches' coven.
Now let's talk about the possible previous inhabitants of this cabin, namely, Celine. Perhaps Celine once lived in this cabin and also gathered there to perform some kind of magical ritual. This is evidenced by the note we found with her poem. Did it strike you as odd that when Swann first arrives at the cabin, a knife with a note flies into a wooden post. The handwriting reminds me of something... Kat? Perhaps Kat has known about this place and the abyss for a long time.
Have you noticed the felled trees near the abyss? Perhaps the cabin itself is built from them. After all, the place itself, next to the abyss, is anomalous; even the crows behave strangely. I think the abyss is fueled by the girls' anger, since they found the cabin only after a loud argument with Cory.

Remember how Kat was playing with the knife, and at the end, a blue light appeared from it? Well, I noticed similarities between that light and the light in the deer's eyes when the girls released them and then burned the ranch. The deer were protecting the girls; in my opinion, there's clearly something magical going on here, and Kat knows more about it.
